George Hills Engages with City Leaders at League of California Cities City Managers Conference

February 21, 2024

The League of California Cities (CalCities) helps city officials and staff make informed decisions to improve their communities. Through CalCities, California’s 482 cities gain opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills, exchange innovative ideas and pool resources to serve their constituents.

Earlier this month, Chief Executive Officer John Chaquica and Chief Operating Officer Chris Shaffer attended CalCities’ City Managers Conference, February 7-9, in Hollywood. They learned and networked with more than 600 municipal managers from across the state, exploring current topics of importance and strengthening professional connections. Designed for city managers and assistant city managers, the conference provided essential, timely information to help municipal administrators effectively run and lead their communities. Topics included diversity, relationships, public safety, finances and human resources.

“Like CalCities, George Hills strives to learn, adapt and look for new ways to provide the best solutions for our municipal clients,” said Chaquica. “George Hills’ support of CalCities represents our engagement in the education and enrichment of decision-makers at city halls throughout the state.”

George Hills will continue to forge partnerships and discuss public agency risk management best practices with colleagues, partners and current and prospective clients at the Public Agency Risk Management Association (PARMA) Annual Conference, February 20-23, in Indian Wells. This year, PARMA—a professional community for California public agency personnel with responsibility for risk management and risk management service providers—celebrates its 50th anniversary.
